Aviation Guide is a free Android encyclopedia of military and civil aviation, covering over 5,000 aircraft, helicopters, flying boats, and other airborne vehicles from around the world.
What’s Inside
Each aircraft entry includes:
- Photos and galleries — multiple images per aircraft, with full-screen browsing
- Flight characteristics — speed, range, ceiling, weight, dimensions, crew
- Modifications and variants — all major versions documented
- History and stories — how each aircraft was created, tested, and deployed
- Bookmarks — save aircraft to review later
- Comments — discuss aircraft with other enthusiasts
The database spans every major aviation era: biplanes of the 1910s, WWII fighters and bombers, Cold War jets, modern multi-role aircraft, and contemporary rotary-wing platforms.
Filter and Search
The app includes a powerful filter system that lets you narrow the database by:
- Country of origin
- Aircraft type (fighter, bomber, transport, helicopter, flying boat, etc.)
- Era / decade of introduction
- Manufacturer
Full-text search works across aircraft names, designations, and descriptions.

- Fixed text encoding — Cyrillic and non-Latin descriptions now render correctly on all devices
